What if you couldn't read??

It's a question which I want to see how many people answer and how they answer it. Quite frankly I don't know how I'd feel if I couldn't read. If I couldn't then I'd probably not be interested in books and not know how many amazing authors are truly out there.

I watched this film today called The Reading Room and that's when I thought to my myself What if I couldn't read? I mean would I even want to learn? There's no possible way to know or ever find out simply because I can read.

Making good on a promise he made to his dying wife, a widower opens a reading room, a place where people can learn to read. Despite his goodwill, problems in the neighbourhood threaten his establishment.

But there are so many out there who can't and it got me thinking of how many people are missing out on amazing stories that can make your life that little bit easier.

To me when I read a book there's a quote that I always think about," We read to know we are not alone." ~ C.S Lewis. I believe in what that author said because it's true. There are so many books out there that when I read them I feel like I'm the happiest girl on the planet and that's because I get to read a book by an amazing author who took the time out to do what they love doing. Each time I read and when I put the book down things don't always seem that gloomy.

The Reading Room has inspired me so much in so many ways and I think if you can then you should definitely take time out and watch it, as it's truly a remarkable story.

What if you couldn't read? Why is reading in important to you? Have you ever seen The Reading Room?

  1. i haven't see this film but i know several people who has difficulties to read and write as i help them with the administrative and legal stuff . For a lot of person in the past they wanted to be able to read and write but couldn't
however now, it's not the same a lot of young one ^prefer the computer and video and don't want to read so in the end they can't ( didn't learn properly, didn't do it by themself) and i think it's something dangerous

Books can helps you to evade yourself but also to learn your own history and if you don't know it you start the same mistakes again and again
