No post due to head injury!

This is Kerry-Anns sister Megan. Yesterday afternoon Kerry-Ann had an accident and fell and hit her head and due to her head injury she isn't allowed on a computer for 48hrs so no posts will be posted at this time!

She knows there is missing posts from the Birthday Bash but she will try her best to get them sorted once she is better!

Thanks Megan!

BB: Excerpt from Sprite by Leigh Michael

"Happy birthday, Kerry-Ann," says Leigh Michael
I'd like to give a special shout-out to Kerry-Ann during her birthday bash! Everyone take a moment to send Kerry-Ann nineteen virtual hugs, and one more for good luck.
The thing about birthdays is that everyone has one, but no two are the same. Let's take Kerry-Ann for example. She's celebrating her final teen year with a huge multi-day bash. Chances are, she's having the time of her life. I'd say, that's a great way to make the most of her day/week of birth.
In my series, Annabelle's Story, the protagonist has a very different experience. In Sprite (Annabelle's Story Part One), Annabelle's eighteenth birthday starts with a bang. She wins the New Jersey state championships, her very gorgeous boyfriend congratulates her, and she's got big plans to celebrate. Then, everything goes awry. Read the excerpt below to see for yourself.
  -->
It was odd; people have always said that you see your life flash before your eyes when you die. But I didn’t. All I could think about were stories I’d heard as a lifeguard — from people who actually drowned and were brought back to life through CPR.
They say after a few minutes you begin to sink. It was because little by little all the air has left your lungs. The aching feeling to replenish your lungs makes your heart quicken.
Then the only thing left to do is inhale. You have no choice, your body just instinctively does it. Doesn’t matter that you’re under water or not. After you do, the water burns your throat as it goes down, it fills your lungs, and then you die.
Right on cue, my body forced me to inhale.

Wanna know more about Annabelle's Story?

Annabelle Walsh thought she had it all. She was the star of her swim team, had a loving family, a great boyfriend, and to top it off, she’d be starting at UCLA in the fall. One day, she’d be referred to as Dr. Annabelle Walsh. She was living every girl’s dream – until her life was turned upside down. All starting with finding out that she's not just a human, but also a water spirit. Half-human, half-sprite to be exact. Although not just any sprite, Annabelle is prophesied to be the only one who can save both the sprites and mankind. With a mix of current events, anecdotes from Greek mythology, tidbits of folklore, and Leigh’s own imagination, we join Annabelle in her journey to restore order beneath the sea. Each step of the way her mind, body, and soul are pushed to the limit begging the question, how much can one half-human, half-sprite take? Sprite (Annabelle's Story Part One) is available to purchase on Amazon and Smashwords in paperback and all digital formats. The conclusion, Kin (Annabelle's Story Part Two) is coming soon (very soon).

Website:

Paige Toon is the most amazing author whose novels I have ever read! I count down the days till May everyear because that's when her new novel is normally released! I stalk the book stores closest to my home and even go in nearly everyday just to see if THAT day it will be there!

Chasing Daisy was the first ever Paige Toon book I read and I sat up the whole night reading the FIRST night I decided sleep was so not important and Chasing Daisy WAS! It really was and until this day sleep is nothing compared to a good book! ;) (A Paige Toon Book)

With my obsession I started a fanpage on facebook for other Paige Toon fans.... Yeah.... lets just say I'm a little tenny weeny bit obsessed with her novels okay! Just a tiny bit.......

This isn't the first time Paige Toon has been here! We had Paige Toon here last year for an interview! You can check that interview out by clicking here.

Can you tell readers one thing about yourself which can't be found anywhere on the internet?

I love animals and have two pet chickens called Pookie and Peabow - they were tiny chicks when we got them. We're going to get a dog next year...

Why have you chosen to re-vist Laura from Chasing Daisy?

A former colleague from heat magazine - Charlotte Ward - gave me the title idea a few years ago and I formulated a story in my head. I couldn't think of a name for my new heroine, and then Laura came to mind. The two story ideas I had in my head actually came together quite nicely, and I love writing about characters who already have a back story.

Lucy in the Sky and Pictures of Lily are my two favourite books, Do you think you'll ever re-visit them?

It's certainly possible! I have some ideas up my sleeve...

I have been obsessed with Adelaide since reading your novels, I love how you can describe the places so beautifully so we are able to picture them, does Mount Lofty actually exist? and if so could you give me directions to Bens place.... please?

Ha ha, Ben's place is somewhere near Mount Lofty (yes, Mount Lofty is real) and I have seen places that look like Ben's house. Adelaide is beautiful - I miss it.

Why do you think readers get so attached to your characters?

I hope it's because they feel as real to them as they do to me. I was terrified after finishing Lucy in the Sky, my debut novel, that no one would like it, but I thought, if anyone feels the way I felt while writing it, then they'll love it - and amazingly, so many of them did!

Out of all of the leading ladies you've wrote about which one was your favourite and why?
Ooh, this is really hard. Lucy was my first, so possibly her, but I love them all - I was inside their heads for a year, remember!

If you weren't married which of your male characters would you be married to?

Ha ha, funny question. Possibly Nathan, but ooh, I don't know. I really fell in love with Joe while writing about him...

Is there anything you can tell us about your Johnny idea? I'm literally on the edge of my seat waiting to see more!

Hmm, I don't know if I should give anything away... It might have something to do with a groupie in his past.....

One Perfect Summer is your latest novel and the one which has felt most real or true to almost everyone who has read it, Are the characters or scenes based on anyone or anything?

I'm so glad it feels real to so many people - I think I enjoyed researching this one the most, and that always makes it feel more real. We went to Dorset, and then moved to Cambridge, so it was magical writing about the city that had just become our new home. Jessie looks like an actual punter I saw working on the River Cam...

Is there anything you'd like to say to readers?

Thank you, thank you, thank you - I can't believe you all love my books as much as you do! Please keep reading and recommending my books - I'll keep writing as long as you do that!

Your novels can make readers laugh, smile, cry, scream and smile some more. We get addicted to them and know they will always be there to pick us up and make any day so much better just by reading them. They give people something to look forward to and are so well worth the wait when we finally get our hands on them. Can you promise us if we keep reading will you keep writing?

As I would be totally lost without them! Brilliant - I have just written my answer to this question in the answer above - and the resounding answer is YES! Thank you so much for reading. Lots of love xxxx @PaigeToonAuthor

Seems like Leo Scott has it all: looks, brains, and athletic talent. He’s captain of his high school swim team with a bright future in college and beyond. But Leo has secrets. His mother’s crippling car accident has devastated his family and left Leo to deal with his father’s abuse, battered and alone.

Leo’s girlfriend Audrey Rose is poised for her own share of success. As one of Florida’s top high school swimmers, Audrey dreams of college swimming stardom. But there’s an obstacle to her glorious rise to the top. Her number-one supporter--her father--is in prison for murder.

Part murder mystery, part tale of young love in a military family, this gripping story takes readers on a journey from Pensacola to Annapolis. Leo and Audrey must band together to rise above the adversity they encounter and find their true selves in the process. When everything’s on the line . . . streamline.

Excerpt:

Leo reached for Audrey and pulled her close. She blinked up at her boyfriend of two years and leaned closer. When he responded with a warm kiss, excitement ran down her spine. She loved their post-practice kisses. With the beta-endorphins flowing from all the exercise, her rush from kissing Leo reached an even higher peak.
Reluctantly they pulled away, and Leo squared his shoulders. “I can’t be late—I’m in enough trouble already. Be careful visiting your dad.”
She nodded, and they turned to go their separate ways. As she turned back to make sure he was okay, Audrey saw him pop a pill before swigging from his Gatorade bottle.
“Leo?” she called. “What’d you just take?”
His eyes widened but then quickly regained their typical coolness. “Uh, just an ibuprofen. My shoulder’s been bothering me. Gotta run.” Leo bolted and didn’t look back.
Audrey turned, but didn’t move, a crease across her forehead. He’d never complained about his shoulder before.

Review: The Super Spies and the Cat Lady Killer by Lisa Orchard

This book opens in a small town in Michigan where fifteen-year-old Sarah Cole is stuck spending the summer at her Aunt and Uncle

s with her sister, Lacey. Shes not happy with the situation until she befriends a girl named Jackie. The three girls stumble upon the ruthless murder of a reclusive neighborhood woman. One of the officers investigating the crime believes the girls are responsible for her death. Fearing that this officer will frame them for the murder, the girls organise their own detective squad. They become the Super Spies and start their own fact-finding mission. The Super Spies cant understand why anyone would want to murder the Cat Lady until they start digging into her past and discover a horrible crime that happened thirty years ago. They uncover a connection between the two crimes and attempt to bring this information to the police, only to be reprimanded for meddling in the inquest. Not only are the girls upset by the admonition, but they also struggle with the fact that their exuberant investigating could provide a legal loophole allowing the killer to go free. To make matters worse, the police dont even believe them. Frustrated by this turn of events, the Super Spies realise its up to them to snare the Cat Lady killer, or die trying…

Foretold blog tour: Character Profile

 Riley profile in depth?

Hi. Im Peter King. Yeah, Riley Blackthornes friend. I figured I should say a few things about her now that shes in the news all the time. Its been really cool (and scary) to watch her go from BFF to someone who kicks demon butt on a regular basis. Still, every time she shows up with a new scar I try not to freak. Its hard to watch someone you love get hurt, you know?
Love, you say? Lets get this straight right now. Riley and I never dated. We did kiss once but, well, it was a big fat zero. I was happy about that. All I have is brothers so Riley is the sister who is always there for me.

Shes a nice girl, never stuck up or anything. Back when we went to a regular school wed sit together at lunch. My mom was into health food and no matter how much I pleaded shed never pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for my lunch. After I complained to Riley about that, she always had one and wed trade for whatever nuts and twigs monstrosity my mom had made that day. It was only later that I found out that Riley wasnt that fond of peanut butter, but shed ask her mom to make the sandwich just so I could have it. That blew me away.

I admit that I wasnt happy when I heard shed become a demon trapper, but I figured her dad would keep her safe. Then he died and I just couldnt handle it. When I got her in face about it, she didnt back down. She can be way stubborn sometimes. Like her and Beck. Geez, what it is with those two? I liked Simon, but Beck is the right guy for Riley. I can see she loves him, but will they just talk it out? Oh no. Lots of drama. It spooks me, because their job is really dangerous. If they wait too long, they may never have any time together as a couple. That would hurt so bad.

Riley is not tech savvy, thats not in her skill set. But she adapts quickly to new situations and has little tolerance for idiots. Or ex-boyfriends like Alan. I got to give her creditthe instant Alan hit her she was out of there. She respects who she is and wont let anyone put her down. I could use some of that courage.

Rileys biggest secret? Oh, you do want to get me killed, dont you? She is afraid of the dark. Yeah, go figure. Ms. Demon Central herself doesnt like the dark. That why I was surprised she sat vigil for her dad …at night. But thats the thing about Rileysomething might frighten her, but shell find a way to conquer that fear and move on. Sometimes that stubbornness works in her favour.

So my friend Riley is a cool girl. Shes taken on Heaven and Hell and is still around to consume hot chocolate in vast quantities. Im proud of her, even if she does trap demons for a living and loves to give me grief. But then thats what friends are for, right?

Debutantes Blog Tour! Review & Giveaway: Debutantes by Cora Harrison

Book: Debutantes
Author: Cora Harrison
Publisher: Macmillan
My Copy: I received a copy of this novel from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

It’s 1923 and London is a whirl of jazz, dancing and parties. Violet, Daisy, Poppy and Rose Derrington are desperate to be part of it, but stuck in an enormous crumbling house in the country, with no money and no fashionable dresses, the excitement seems a lifetime away.

Luckily the girls each have a plan for escaping their humdrum country life: Rose wants to be a novelist, Poppy a jazz musician and Daisy a famous film director. Violet, however, has only one ambition: to become the perfect Debutante, so that she can go to London and catch the eye of Prince George, the most eligible bachelor in the country.

But a house as big and old as Beech Grove Manor hides many secrets, and Daisy is about to uncover one so huge it could ruin all their plans—ruin everything—forever.

Not only does Debutantes have the most most beautiful it also contains the most beautiful story I have ever read. Cora Harrison has wrote a page turning addictive read for every and any girl around the globe.

I cannot recommend Debutantes enough. It will have you staying up late in the night just to read that little bit more although it will never be enough. The author writes in a way that makes you understand and connect with the characters something which I haven't felt in a long time with a novel.

More of the authors novels will be added to my TBR list as they just have got to be better. Cora Harrison you are AMAZING!!
