My BDSM Writing Journey by Lucy Felthouse

Firstly, I want to give huge thanks to Kerry-Ann for putting this event together and for asking me to be a part of it. Thanks hon!

So now, without further ado, I’ll tell you about my BDSM writing journey. I’ve been writing for several years now, and have been published since 2009. I started off pretty vanilla, it has to be said. I still pen some vanilla stories, in fact. But to begin with, I barely touched BDSM stories, in terms of writing. I was happy to read them, but I couldn’t seem to get into the right mindset to write something with bondage, domination, sadism (or submission) or masochism.

The more I wrote, though, the more adventurous I and my characters became. I penned threesomes, lesbian trysts, and more. Finally, when I saw a call for submissions for either BDSM or spanking stories, I don’t remember, I decided to give it a go. And so Naughty Delivery was born. It’s a short smutty tale about a couple who order some sex toys, but receive the wrong parcel and decide to go ahead and use what they got anyway, with kinky results.

Next came a call for BDSM and vampires. Inspired by the hotness that is Alexander Skarsgard, otherwise known as Eric Northman, I penned a story about a submissive vampire. The anthology never came to fruition, so the story languished on my hard drive for a while, until I decided to have a go at writing something for Rachel Kramer Bussel’s Best Bondage Erotica. I didn’t hold out much hope, as I was still a little nervous of the genre. However, my fem-dom story (which is in my mini-anthology, Punish Me Good, along with the Skarsgard story) made it into Best Bondage Erotica 2012, much to my surprise.

From then on, I decided I obviously had some kind of knack for BDSM tales and have written several more, including the four that are in The Perfect Dom, details below. I even progressed to writing an entire novel with BDSM elements, which is currently out on submission, so keep your fingers crossed. I’ve recently written my first co-author novel, which also has BDSM in it. So it seems I’ve gone from one extreme to the other—from total vanilla to utter kink—and you know what? I love it. I love the variety, I love the fun you can have with the stories, letting your imagination go completely wild, pleasuring the characters, punishing them, making them feel all kinds of crazy stuff.

I now have several BDSM tales out there, including those in Best Bondage Erotica 2012 and 2013. I’m hoping inspiration will strike in order for me to submit something to the 2014 version, too. Let’s hope something comes to me, and that it gets accepted. So much finger crossing in my future!

Regardless of genre or sub-genre though, I’m delighted to be writing and to be published and know I’m very lucky. I just hope you all enjoy reading my stuff as much as I enjoy writing it!

Four kinky and erotic BDSM tales from the smutty pen of Lucy Felthouse.

Balancing the Books
Philip’s a well off man, and doesn’t need a job. But when he sees the gorgeous owner of his local bookshop, he applies for the role that’s being advertised there immediately. He’s totally stricken by the stunning Giovanna, and when it turns out she wants to boss him around in a sexual sense as well as an employment sense, he has no intention of refusing.
Feeling the Heat

Taylor and Maisie’s car has broken down. Luckily, Taylor’s handy with engines and is working hard to get them back on the road. Unfortunately, Maisie is getting annoyed at the amount of time he’s spending in the garage and confronts him. Instead of arguing back, though, Taylor comes up with an ingenious plan to keep Maisie quiet.

Meet Me at the Spanish Steps

Darby is working at a holiday camp on the outskirts of Rome and is getting along just fine, with the exception of her sex life. For various reasons, she’s not getting what she wants in the bedroom, and her tastes are very particular. She turns to the Internet to get what she needs, and when she discovers William, it seems that he’s more than willing—and capable—of scratching that particular itch.

The Perfect Dom

Part of Mia’s nightwear is a pair of hotpants with SPANK ME emblazoned across the arse. Normally, that wouldn’t be a problem, but when she forgets that she has a houseguest and heads to the kitchen for a drink, she’s shocked to find Alex in her living room. Immediately spotting what he sees as an invitation written across Mia’s bottom, Alex makes an offer and Mia soon discovers that he is, in fact, the perfect dom.

Author Interview & Giveaway: Lisa Orchard

Author Interview & Giveaway: Lisa Orchard

Awesome YA author Lisa Orchard is here today to answer some questions and to tell us all about when she discoverd a mystery of her own.....

About Lisa:

Lisa is the oldest of four children and grew up in a small town in Western Michigan. She grew up reading mysteries, starting with "The Bobbsey Twins" and "The Nancy Drew" series.

However, when missing the hustle and bustle or work a little voice appeared inside her brain and said, "It's time to write.".

So she did, and "The Super Spies and the Cat Lady Killer" was born, followed by her new book, "The Super Spies and the High School Bomber."

Lisa is very excited as she begins this new "chapter" in her life.

Talk to Lisa:

Thanks so much for taking the time out, How are you? How's your day been so far?
Youre very welcome. I appreciate the opportunity to be here. Im doing great and my day has been fabulous! I woke up to some incredible news this morning and Im still reeling from it!

~ Can you share with us your latest news?

I sure can! I just woke up this morning and found out that my first book “The Super Spies and the Cat Lady Killer” is ranked number 2 in the category of mysteries and detectives, and number 3 in the category of mystery/thrillers on the USA Amazon site. Ive just become an Amazon bestselling
author! Yeahmy day has been really great so far!

~ What's your writing journey been like so far?

Its been amazing! Its so refreshing to see the support from other authors. I worked in the corporate arena for many years and its a whole different ballgame there. J And of course I woke up this morning and realized I was an Amazon best-selling author! Yeah, Im really excited about that. J

~ Where do you get most of your inspiration from?

From my kids! They are so proud and excited about my books. Its great to hear them talking them up to their friends. They inspire me to keep writing. My ideas come from some of my own teen antics J and some of the events that are taking place in our world today.

~ Who is your favorite character from your novels to write about?

Its really hard to pick a favorite. J But, if I had to choose one… I would have to say Sarah. I admire her strength of character and her willingness to fight for the victims when the victims cant fight for themselves. I would like to say though, that I love the relationship between Sarah and Jackie. Their friendship is so effortless. Im sure we can all remember a friend from school that we had that kind of connection with. Anyway, they just click, even though they are opposites.

~  Who is your favourite author who writes in the same genre and what is it you love about their work?

Well…if youre talking about the mystery genre I would have to say I love David Baldacci. I love his characters and the suspense in his stories.
If youre talking about my favorite author for the Young Adult Genre, Id have to say Harper Lee. I love her book “To Kill a Mockingbird.”

~  Can you tell us anything about the project youre working on with VOLUNTEENATION and why you've chosen to?

I cant give any details about this until an official announcement is made. Were still working everything out, but I will say its an awesome project and Im excited about it. Ive chosen to do this because I want to have a positive impact on the next generation and make the world a better place for my kids.:) Thats why Im so glad I was introduced to Volunteenation. They are a very impressive organization and I hope we can work together on other projects as well. J

~ You grew up loving to read mysteries, but has there ever been a mystery you discovered?

Yes. Back in my younger days… not too long ago… J LOL; I too wanted to be a detective and my friends and I stumbled upon a mystery. Someone had vandalized my neighbors Chinese Tea House while they were on vacation. My friends and I were on the case! We were going to solve the mystery! J We tried; we questioned neighbors and looked for clues. But alas we werent successful, but that summer is one of my best memories.

~ Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

Keep writing! Dont give up.

~ What is it like to be a best-selling author?

Its awesome! J I would like to take this moment and thank my family, friends, publisher, and my wonderful editors who have made this all possible. J

A MASSIVE thanks to Lisa for taking the time out! :)

You can purchase a copy of The First in the Super Spies Series:

About the book:
In a small town in Michigan, fifteen-year-old Sarah Cole is stuck spending the summer at her Aunt and Uncle’s with her sister, Lacey. She’s not happy with the situation until she befriends a girl named Jackie. The three girls stumble upon the ruthless murder of a reclusive neighborhood woman and what's worse? One of the officers investigating the crime believes the girls are responsible for her death.

Fearing that this officer will frame them for the murder, the girls organize their own detective squad. They become the Super Spies and start their own investigation. The Super Spies can’t understand why anyone would want to murder the “Cat Lady” until they start digging into her past and discover a horrible crime that happened thirty years ago. They uncover a connection between the two crimes and attempt to bring this information to the police, only to be reprimanded for meddling in the investigation. Not only are the girls upset by the admonition, but they also struggle with the fact that their exuberant investigating could provide a legal loophole allowing the killer to go free. Frustrated by this turn of events, the Super Spies realize it’s up to them to snare the Cat Lady killer.

Or die trying...

As a thanks to Lisa for taking the time out, I'm offering one lucky commenter the chance to win a Kindle copy of The Super Spies & the Cat Lady Killer. Please leave a comment with your email addie. :) Giveaway ends 28 February 2013. :) GOOD-LUCK!

Thank you so much for taking the time out today, How are you?
That's a personal question. I'm fine actually, but I'm learning in my French class that the French consider "How are you?" a personal question that they only ask someone they know intimately. I'm taking French so I can bone up on Kingsley (although I'd rather he boned up on me ;). Since I'm an American I don't find "How are you?" a personal question but thought your readers would enjoy some cultural insight.

1, Can you share your latest news with us?

Latest and greatest news is that book four of The Original Sinners now has a release date and cover. Check it out on

2, Where do you get most of your inspiration from?

I'm going to have to quote Steve Jobs on this question. "Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn't really do it. They just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That's because they were able to connect the experiences they've had an synthesize new things."

3, Out of all the characters you've written about which is more like you and why?

Nora has my personality but Soren has my soul. When I started writing The Siren I was a weird kinky horny student at a very conservative Methodist seminary. So this character who loved theology, loved God, and yet had to behave himself sexually due to his conservative milieu resonated with me. Soren is my favorite character to write.

4, Are any of your characters experiences based on your own?

Lots of them. The question is...which ones?

5, Do you have a motto for when your writing?

"Neither God nor man is going to tell me what to write." James T. Ferrell. I love this quote because so many people have told me the content of my books is just too shocking and scandalous. You can't write a romance with underage sex in it! You can't have a female Dominant as your leading lady! You can't have REAL S&M that actually hurts people in your BDSM book! You can't have your leading lady have sex with more than one man and NOT feel guilty about it! Yeah, no. All those supposed strikes against my series is the reason why my fans love them. And no, my editor has never once edited for content. She lets me get away with anything because she understands I'm trying to accurately depict the world of sex and BDSM and not an idealized Disneyfied version of it.
6, Which song best describes your personality?

I'm rather fond of Adam Ant's "Goody Two Shoes." I don't drink, don't smoke...must be something inside.

7, Your writing in unlike any authors I've ever read, I love it! Why do you think readers are addicted to your novels?

My books are unusual. I don't write stories other people are writing. Name one other contemporary writer of Gothics. Can you? You can rattle off at least five romance writers writing Billionaire playboys but who else has an Alpha Male who's also a Jesuit priest or a bisexual male Switch who loves taking pain as much as he loves giving it (he's French, bien sur). Who else is writing a mix of horror and romance with wicked clergymen, sinister plots, secret societies, incestuous siblings (all classic traits of Gothic fiction)? I think I give readers something they can't find anywhere else.
8, What advice would you give to aspiring authors?

9, Is there anything I haven't asked which you wish I had?

No one has asked me what my favorite kind of cookie is. Chocolate chip, thank you.

10, What novel did you do the most research for?

The Priest which I haven't written yet. It's book five in the series and the first prequel. Soren is a young Jesuit in that book and imparts a lot of Jesuit wisdom onto young Nora.
1, What's your view on BDSM? Like it. Love it. Want some more of it.
2, Have you ever tried it? What was your experience? Saying I've tried BDSM is like saying I've tried food.

3, What is your favourite book to read in that genre? Best BDSM book I've read is probably Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey or The Story of O by Pauline Reage.
4, Dominant or Submissive? Switch.
5, Giver or Receiver? Power bottom.
6, Naughty or Nice? They're the same thing in my world.

Omg! I love her! I absolutely love her!!! I am so over crazyily obsessed with her novels I don't know how I'd honestly survive without them! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU X100000 FOR TAKING THE TIME OUT TO ANSWER QUESTIONS!!! :d

The 4th and final book in The Original Sinner's (The Mistress) is released 30 July 2013. Pre-Order your copy now!! Omg! I know I have! ;)

Thanks so much for taking the time out, How are you? Hows your day been so far?
Hello and thank you Kerry-Ann for inviting me here to take part in this blog. I am very good and delighted to be here with Desires, being my first published works and if you comment at the end of this interview I am going to giveaway a PDF file of Desires, to get you heated! Remember to leave your e-mail address J
~ Can you share with us your latest news?
I can, I have a second book Touching Angels Desires second in the series with Nikki Blaise due for release in April.
~ Where do you get most of your inspiration from?
Sex, music, video’s and images are my main source, I find music so inspiring and intend to listen to tunes when writing, filling my head with further ideas. I also get loads of inspiration from places I visit.
~ Can you readers a little about your writing and published work?
I write Erotic/Erotica Romantic novels, as I enjoy writing about intimacy and passion, with plenty of spice and exploring different sexual fantasies. My first published works Desires with Nikki Blaise is about a Sex Club, where Stacie Clifford has come out an abusive relationship with her ex husband and decides to join a sex club to help regain her self confidence, but falls in love with her 'tutor' Dan, despite the clubs contacts rules.
~ Are any of your characters experiences based on any of your own?
Yes, Stacie. She relates to me greatly lacking in self-confidence and has hidden herself away, just being the person who is in the background and runs around doing everything for others and forgetting about her own personal needs.
~ Which song best describes your personality?
Just Around The Hill by Sash! The reason to me is it states that if we all liked or did the same things in life, what would the world be like? We need the challenges and be individual to make us who we are. Take time to think about what you want from life and how you respond to confrontations… Have a listen!!
~ Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?
Don’t give up! But keep an open mind, keep writing as a hobby and enjoy what you do, if you get published it’s a bonus.
~ Out of all the characters you've written about, which has been your favourite?
None… They all touch me in different ways and are special.
~  Do you have a motto for when your writing?
With me being on a recent diet and lost three stone, I like to have grapes, or a fruit salad, drink warm juice, notes… Internet on stand-by and off I go!!
~ Is there anything specific you'd like to say to readers?
Sit back, relax and enjoy the journey with the characters.
~ Is there anything I haven't asked you which you wish I had?
As a writer of Erotic/Erotica romantic fiction I love what I write and my heart and soul goes into my works to make sure the readers enjoy the journey as much as I did.
What's your view on BDSM? Whatever your kink, enjoy!
Have you ever tried it? Yes!!
What are your favouirte BDSM novels? Wow, I have read so many good ones, but my favourite are the ones with a love story.
Dominant or Submissive? Dominant
Giver or Receiver? Giver!
Desires blurb

Desires—a place where fantasies are made flesh and dreams become real. From BDSM to being a dog, Desires can provide it with bells on, if that’s your kink.
Stacie Clifford’s only desire is to regain her sexual confidence after her recent escape from an abusive marriage. She joins Desires looking for re-education in the joys of her body. There is only one condition; her contract states emotional attraction between tutor and student is forbidden. Stacie is fine with that; her heart is so battered she has no desire to give it to anyone else.
Then she meets her instructor, Dan. Instantly attracted, at first Stacie thinks it will help to make her sexually comfortable with him. But when she realises she is falling in love, she can’t tear herself away, contract or no. Stacie knows that, no matter how kind and caring Dan appears, he’s just doing his job. Can Stacie overcome her own Desires and walk away?
Dan closed the door and crossed over to the other side of the room, opening another door. There were more of the ubiquitous flickering lights, which illuminated a St. Andrew’s cross against the far wall, complete with handcuffs and feet restraints, and another wall full of various bits of equipment she couldn’t begin to imagine the use of.
“This is exceptionally extreme,” he said to her as she reluctantly stepped in.
Stacie walked up to the cross, Dan coming up behind her.
“This can be used for all different kinds of fetish. Have a go,” he said, stepping past her and pressing his body against the cross, putting his hands and feet to the restraints.
Stacie stared at him. “What, you want me to tie you up?”
“I am all yours. Restrain me and use whatever you choose, feathers if you like. Sometimes it’s nice to be out of control. Try it.”
“Can I pass?”
“You can if you wish, but it’s not all about pain. Try something sensual.”
“I’m not sure,” Stacie replied, looking around the scary room, then back at Dan.
“Go on, what harm will it do? Use that blindfold, so I don’t know what’s coming. That’s always exciting.”
“How can that be exciting? I could just tie you up and leave you here.”
“Oh, I see,” he said with a twinkle, removing his body from the cross. “So you would restrain your partner and walk away and leave him to be punished in that manner.”
“Absolutely, especially if he is driving me loopy.”
“I’d better give that one a miss then.” He walked toward her. “I don’t actually think you would leave me there though.”
“And what makes you think that?” she said. His smile was too cocky.
“Well, that would be wasting your money.”
“Not if I tell them you were rubbish and you promised not to hurt me with the whip and offered it for free.”
Dan moved his mouth to her left ear. His hot breath warmed her cold flesh. “You’re evil, Miss Clifford.”
Where to buy Desires.

About the Book:

Celestine is an inexperienced peasant girl who, at twenty-two years of age, still knows nothing of life outside the small French town of Chamboise. For years, she has lived in fear of the inhabitants of Château de Délicieux, all too aware of the punishments that are administered at such an establishment.

When Celestine is summoned to the castle by the High Marguise, little does she know that she is about to embark on a journey of delicious discovery and commit the sweetest of sins. This Sapphic tale tells of the emotion one woman feels as she succumbs to a life of sexual possession at the hands of her mistress.

Purest Possession is a Hot, Sexy, Flirty fun read!

This short story really captures the readers imagination and I devoured it! Enthralled till the very last page the author keeps you wanting to read more.

Celestine and the High Marguise are two characters I could never tire of reading about as 17 pages just simply isn't enough.

About Elise Hepner

Elise Hepner lives with her spastic cat, two hyperactive ferrets and a very supportive, slightly crazy husband. There is never a dull moment in the house, unless the caffeine runs out, which it never does. She’s a multi-published erotica author in both ebooks and print as well as a few websites. She’s driven by her tea addiction and a tiny stuffed turtle her husband picked up from Disney World that sits on her desk and “supervises” her work. She has let loose her storytelling addiction that has hung around since birth, along with a deep need for organization, which helps her write. When not writing (which is rare), she’s watching countless hours of reality television, playing the Sims or shopping online. Plus there’s that odd obsession with the color purple. Everything is purple. Visit Elise at her blog, A Willing Writer’s Blog: Erotica 1.0, to keep up with her naughty ramblings, random tidbits and future work.

~ Can you share with readers your latest news?

Well right now I'm currently writing the sequel to Furious Lust, which is titled Furious Temptation, which deals with Tisiphone's demon sister, Mageara who's forced to work with a demon made, Omen, because his psychotic ex-wife broke a major rule of the Underworld and is being punished for it. Mageara's job is to assess the punishment of demons who break the rules and her involvement brings the two together spiraling down to save his ex-wife from a damning fate.

I'm also waiting on several contracts to float my way but hopefully I'll have some novella's out in the near future as well.

~ Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

I always wanted to write though I'm not sure when the love started because I learned to read off Calvin and Hobbes comics. But I do know I started writing in earnest when I went through my "Harriet the Spy" phase where I wrote everything down in a notebook and from there my writing progressed until I couldn't do anything else. I read so many books as a teenager I was just like "I can do--if these people can do this, I can". And I went to college with my five year plan, got out of college, and broke myself into the business as quick as I could get accepted. Failure wasn't an option, this was the only thing I could do.

~ Where do you get most of your inspiration from?

A lot of it will come from TV and movies--like the other day I was watching Gilmore Girls while I was editing a piece and I thought to myself, what would happen if a longtime couple owned a diner and they closed early for a anniversary celebration. Except the husband never lets them leave the diner, instead he leaves all the lights on and uses his wife is this torrid, voyeuristic, heavy BDSM scene for all the town to pass-by and see. I'm writing that short right now for an anthology call and it all came out of Luke's diner as inspiration. My head is pretty random, sometimes being inside there is a little scary/

~ Are any of your characters experiences based on your own?

Not a whole lot, although a few of them have my fantasies mixed up into them. Occasionally I'll throw in an inspiration I took from my bedroom or a toy I enjoyed because I have personal experience with it, but the majority of the time it's pure sexy randomness.

~ What's the best thing about being a writer?

Getting to go to work in my pajama's every day? Ha, that and working for myself is really nice because I tend to drive myself extremely hard to the point where I'm thinking about getting anxiety meds and then I can take a step back, say calm the hell down, and take the day off. Most people when put in that situation at work have to deal with it--but I can deal with it standing in front of my fridge picking out junk food and figuring out what episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer I want to watch next. The freedom is worth every single rejection and every second of heartbreak during a critique.

~ Do you have a motto for when your writing?

I wouldn't say it's a motto but a good friend of mine made me put up a post-it note that says "I Am Epic" so that whenever I start freaking out that my stuff is horrid, I can check it, and laugh. I guess you could say that's a motto, but as most writers, I have a inferiority complex sixteen miles wide and as deep as the Grand Canyon.

~What's in store for your readers in the future?

I'm working on a lot more long work this year, more novels, series, etc. I'm calling 2013 my "Year of Fear" in which I do all the things in my career that completely terrify me including writing longer works, subbing to different publishers, and really taking a flying leap in terms of pushing myself both with subject matter and in my career. It's going to be a trying year, but it'll be worth it. I'm hopping to push out 500,000 thousand words this year.

~ Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

Write like it's your job from the second you start whether that be morning, noon, or night because you have to take yourself seriously or no one in the publishing industry will. Push yourself constantly and always move forward whether that be word count, a genre you've never thought you'd try, or a publisher you've been hoping to land but have been too afraid to go for it. Start from the top because there are enough people in the world trying to bring you down and failures happen more than people let on, but once you know you've taken the chance regardless of the outcome, you won't have any regrets.

~ What's your view on BDSM?
I LOVE BDSM for it's mental quality and the head space that it can inspire. I think there's something so freeing about not having to be in control all the time and knowing that in an environment of complete trust that pushing limits is okay. It's an exploration of both partners both physically and mentally which gives them the chance to grow together through physical expression as a way of communication. BDSM peels back people to their raw form and really highlights vulnerability while also engaging in a powerplay that promotes confidence in different sexual choices. Whether that be dominate or submissive, exploring and defining our choices and the ability to make them, even when that ability is taken away, is an important step in exerting confidence outside the bedroom and in real life. It's not all whips, chains, and roleplay because it can aid a relationship and the two or more people in it with their outside experiences in terms of understanding of limits, how to make choices, and how to go farther in life even when they aren't entirely comfortable with the outcome.

~ Have you ever tried it? What were your experiences?

I have tried it, although a lady never flogs and tells.

What or who is your favourite BDSM book/author?
I don't have a favorite per se, but one that sticks in my mind that I really enjoyed when I first started getting into the genre is A Pound of Flesh by Susan Wright.

Handcuffed or blindfolded?
Both and preferably with a gag as well.

Dominant or submissive?
No question, submissive

He moved me with confidence, our hips rolling from side to side while his breath eased across my neck. His clean cheek lightly brushed mine. Before Id found any composure goose bumps dotted my arms and I sensed the curve of his lips against my ear. We worked as one to the techno rhythm that replicated the beat of my heartmy pulse plunged into a rather embarrassing quickness.
Through my leather skirt his warmth soaked into my flesh radiating body heat upward through my breasts. My nipples pebbled with sexual awareness, my belly twisting into a labyrinth of knots. His body was tightly pressed against my lower back so there was no question as to whether or not he was enjoying our dance. As his fingers guided the swing of my hips, for once, Ill admit, I was captivated. While I wasted no time reaching behind me tracing up his arms, shoulders, and chest with my hands.
There was a certain seductive slowness that set him apart from my usual partners. He didnt lack confidence. Much could be gathered from the way a man danced with a woman and my body wasnt lying to me. Id learned to trust my instincts. My partner was special.
His fingers slipped beneath my clingy, vinyl tank top playing along my ribs. When his hands tightened along my naked flesh our flirtation deepened into a more serious encounter. Despite his hold, I couldnt avoid savoring his warmth. My first touch of cleansing fire, a comfort, and the key to my arousal. My fingers eased through his soft hair tangling in the strands at the nape of his neck. For the briefest of moments, I entertained the fact that he might go further, cupping my breasts and brushing his calloused thumbs across my tingling nipples.
But his hands squeezed tighter along my waist, though we moved as if nothing had changed between us. Would it be wrong to admit I enjoyed this edge? Whatever the game was between us. Even the subtle brush of my stockings against my inner thighs left me wide-eyed and wet between my legs. We were playing with fire.
His possessive, too hard touch promised an outcome I couldnt fathom. A jolt of fear prickled beneath my skin. Though I faltered in my steps, the stranger only pressed harder against my hips with his chin casually resting on the top of my head. He never missed a beat, while I was shivering in his embrace.
My throat was constricted to a knot while my instincts shot off sparks inside my body. Yet, I was drawn to him. I moaned when his rough, long fingers slipped down beneath the top of my skirt idly following an outline of the waistband across my stomachand lower. There was no going back now. Beneath the scent of sweat and alcohol that permeated the club, a familiar charred wood-smoke scent lingered on my clothing.

It was only a moment before I completely understood my situation, with a jolt that sent my mind reeling. My weak-kneed acceptance was replaced with ironclad knowledge of the man at my back. His almost unbearable heat lingered inside me. The scent of the Underworld clung to the strands of hair across my face. His unwavering grip. But perhaps, for a secondif I could take some more time to think

Unable to fully process, automatically my arms dropped from around his neck and my hands clenched into fists. Realization left me cold and aching. Without knowing who I was facing, without my powers, it would be foolish to spin on him and attack. But my need to vent my rage left me seething. One of the most sexual moments of my existence in recent history had been dashed.
Whoever he was, he was working for them the Underworld.
Hed stopped dancing against me and his breath against the nape of my neck spun me deeper into a confusing hole. It cannot be so. But when I broke our contact from hips to head glancing down the smooth line of my bodyApollos balls, I knew those fingers as if they were my own. Could I bring myself to turn around? To look him in the eye?

“Tisiphone,” he murmured low and cool against the lip of my ear.

I saw his face as if it wasn
t dark in the nightclubas if my past was yesterday. His low, pleased voice triggered a darkness inside me that I was afraid to acknowledge. His fingers pinched into mine as I tried to pry his hands off me, until I softly cried out. But he let me go, letting me know with his continued presence at my back that he would have kept me there if he wanted to.
There would never be enough space between usthis wasnt real.
I turned until Id locked eyes with his pale gray irisesbut they werent gray anymoreand not because of the harsh dancehall lighting. While I searched inside his shining coal black eyes, I sensed the trace of brimstone magic within him. His tongue casually flicked across his lips. An unreadable expression, even with neon lights spinning and whirling across him.
If he were truly of my old world, his skin would be shiny as an oil slickblack with dappled rainbows beneath the chaotic light play. In the night hed be purely human in appearance until any ray of light caught his flesh. But there was nothing. Nothing that was recognizable but tan, human flesh like mine.
What have they made him? What have they done? Brimstone. Black eyes. No pulse. But looked human. His heatthe undeniable heat of those from the Underworld because though creatures there have no need to breathe or bleed, the temperature at the Earths core isnt anything to trifle with on a whim. He carried the depth of heat that my kind engineered as a defense mechanism to live in the Underworld.
That was my answer. I couldnt deny it any longer. I knewgods, I wished I didnt. I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. Not even a man who had unknowingly condemned me to live a life far from my sisters for hundreds of years.
