My BDSM Writing Journey by Lucy Felthouse
Firstly, I want to give huge thanks to Kerry-Ann for putting this event together and for asking me to be a part of it. Thanks hon!
So now, without further ado, I’ll tell you about my BDSM writing journey. I’ve been writing for several years now, and have been published since 2009. I started off pretty vanilla, it has to be said. I still pen some vanilla stories, in fact. But to begin with, I barely touched BDSM stories, in terms of writing. I was happy to read them, but I couldn’t seem to get into the right mindset to write something with bondage, domination, sadism (or submission) or masochism.
The more I wrote, though, the more adventurous I and my characters became. I penned threesomes, lesbian trysts, and more. Finally, when I saw a call for submissions for either BDSM or spanking stories, I don’t remember, I decided to give it a go. And so Naughty Delivery was born. It’s a short smutty tale about a couple who order some sex toys, but receive the wrong parcel and decide to go ahead and use what they got anyway, with kinky results.
Next came a call for BDSM and vampires. Inspired by the hotness that is Alexander Skarsgard, otherwise known as Eric Northman, I penned a story about a submissive vampire. The anthology never came to fruition, so the story languished on my hard drive for a while, until I decided to have a go at writing something for Rachel Kramer Bussel’s Best Bondage Erotica. I didn’t hold out much hope, as I was still a little nervous of the genre. However, my fem-dom story (which is in my mini-anthology, Punish Me Good, along with the Skarsgard story) made it into Best Bondage Erotica 2012, much to my surprise.
From then on, I decided I obviously had some kind of knack for BDSM tales and have written several more, including the four that are in The Perfect Dom, details below. I even progressed to writing an entire novel with BDSM elements, which is currently out on submission, so keep your fingers crossed. I’ve recently written my first co-author novel, which also has BDSM in it. So it seems I’ve gone from one extreme to the other—from total vanilla to utter kink—and you know what? I love it. I love the variety, I love the fun you can have with the stories, letting your imagination go completely wild, pleasuring the characters, punishing them, making them feel all kinds of crazy stuff.
I now have several BDSM tales out there, including those in Best Bondage Erotica 2012 and 2013. I’m hoping inspiration will strike in order for me to submit something to the 2014 version, too. Let’s hope something comes to me, and that it gets accepted. So much finger crossing in my future!
Regardless of genre or sub-genre though, I’m delighted to be writing and to be published and know I’m very lucky. I just hope you all enjoy reading my stuff as much as I enjoy writing it!

Four kinky and erotic BDSM tales from the smutty pen of Lucy Felthouse.Balancing the Books
Taylor and Maisie’s car has broken down. Luckily, Taylor’s handy with engines and is working hard to get them back on the road. Unfortunately, Maisie is getting annoyed at the amount of time he’s spending in the garage and confronts him. Instead of arguing back, though, Taylor comes up with an ingenious plan to keep Maisie quiet.

What do you think of the Guest Post? Have you ever read of the authors work?
Oh, I love the idea of a submissive vampire! It's so unexpected.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if you write from experience? I often feel the need to act kind of as a reporter when I'm working on erotica stuff... not that it is so easy to find a vampire these days...
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these yet! Love discovering new reads!

Thanks for stopping by, everyone. And in answer to Melancton's question, no I don't write from experience. Or only in as much as I'm not a virgin... it's all from my wacky imagination!
ReplyDeleteI've never read any of Lucy's books but I'm loving the idea of Eric Northman engaging in anything like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
