About KD:

(Taken from goodreads)

K D Grace was born with a writing obsession. It got worse once she actually learned HOW to write. There's no treatment for it. It's progressive and chronic and quite often interferes with normal, everyday functioning. She might actually be concerned if it wasn't so damned much fun most of the time.

Her erotica has been published with Xcite Books, Mammoth, Cleis Press, Black Lace, Erotic Review, Ravenous Romance, and Scarlet Magazine.

Find out more about K D Grace on her website, http://kdgrace.co.uk. She's also on Facebook and Twitter.

Interview:

~ First things first, How are you? Hows your day been so far?
I’m really good, Kerry Ann! And thanks so much for having me! It’s always such a treat to be on your site!

~ Can you tell us something about yourself that we can't find anywhere else on the Internet?
Something good: I know how to make yummy homemade noodles with chicken from my grandmother’s recipe.

Something neurotic: I am scared of really loud noises, have been since I was a child.
Something naughty: When hubby’s not looking, I drink from the juice bottle instead of using a glass. *laughs wickedly*
~ Can you catch readers up with any latest news?

Wow! There’s been so much lately! I’ve just released book two in the Grace Marshall hot romance Executive Decision trilogy. The book is
Identity Crisis, now in eBook, soon to be in print. And K D Grace has just released a very naughty petite novel for Harper Collins Mischief called Kinky Boots. Very excited about both releases. K D has also just finished the final draft of the third book of the Lakeland Heatwave paranormal erotic trilogy, Elemental Fire, which will be out soon. That was a bit of an emotional moment for me. Hard to say good-bye to my friends of the Elemental Coven after nearly two years in their company.

~ Can you tell us a little about your writing journey so far?
I didn’t actually start out writing erotica and erotic romance, though I imagine there are a good number of us who write erotica who didn’t start out that way. In fact, it was an earlier version of
An Executive Decision that I was trying to sell as romance and getting rejected soundly because it was too risque. Mind you it was a lot tamer then than it is now, but that was pre-50SoG. The experience of writing what by the standards of the day was a sexy romance is what got me thinking about trying my hand at erotica. I published my first erotica with the now defunct Scarlet Magazine in their ‘Cliterature’ section, then started selling short stories to Black Lace, Constable and Robinson, Xcite, Ravenous Romance and others. I had just offered The Initiation of Ms Holly to Black Lace when they closed their doors back in 2009. I was devastated. But I ended up selling the novel to Xcite Books, it’s been one of their best sellers, and I’ve never looked back. That was seven novels, four novellas and countless short stories ago. I was just thinking today as I walked to the gym for my work out how much I LOVE my work!

~ Each of your novels are uniquely different, How do you write each differently but still leave readers with the same satisfying experience?
I don’t really have a secret. I just write the story I want to tell and try to write it the way I think my readers would like to read it. I suppose some of the reason my novels are so varied is because I enjoy reading lots of different things, so my imaginations offers up lots of different ideas. The Initiation of Ms Holly, for instance, is much more of a BDSM novel than anything else I’ve written because if the initiation story I wanted to tell. Holly is a modern retelling of the Greek myth of Psyche and Eros, which lends itself very nicely to a BDSM context.

~ Which of your books has been your favourite to write?
That’s such a hard choice. I suppose ultimately it would have to be
The Pet Shop because I’d been dying to write Tino’s story for a long time. Having said that though, I loved the Lakeland Trilogy because it was a world and an experience that didn’t end after one book. The characters were so much fun – especially Anderson, and I adore the Lake District, so every time I worked on the Lakeland trilogy, I felt like I’d gotten a mini holiday to the Lakes.

(MY INPUT - The Pet Shop is a MUST READ! Read my review here: http://readinglittlebitofeverything.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/adult-review-pet-shop-kd-grace.html)

~ Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get my inspiration from all over the place. I have been inspired by dreams. Being caught in the mist on a walk in the Lake District was the original inspiration for the Lakeland novels. The inspiration for The Initiation of Ms Holly was being stuck in the train in the Eurostar Tunnel for four and a half hours. Mind you my experience of being stuck there wasn’t nearly as sexy as Rita Holly’s was!

~ You write about a variety of experiences but have you ever tried any of them?
That’s a very broad question, Kerry Ann. Since I write about a variety of experiences, of course I’ve tried some of them. But I, like most erotica writers, have a very naughty, very active imagination, and THAT’S ultimately where the story and the majority of the experiences come from.

~ Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?
Sit your bottom down in the chair and write! Write until it’s done! Don’t stop, don’t rewrite, don’t second-guess yourself. Do all of those things AFTER you’ve gotten your first draft done. You can’t edit what you haven’t written. And the truth is, the editing is the place where the story is polished until it shines. The main thing is to get down that first draft. Then you’ve got something to work with. And the really biggie – don’t give up!

~ Is there anything I didn't ask which you wish I had?
I think you’ve covered it, Hon!
