Book Review: The Pet Shop - KD Grace

The Pet Shop
Title: The Pet Shop
Author: KD Grace
Publisher: Xcite
Format: eBook
Rating: ★★★★★
My Copy: I received a copy of this via Writer Marketing Services in exchange for an honest review.
In appreciation for a job well done, Stella James's boss sends her a pet - a human pet. The mischievous Tino comes straight from The Pet Shop complete with a collar, a leash, and an erection. Stella soon discovers the pleasure of keeping Pets, especially this one, is extremely addicting. Obsessed with Tino and with the reclusive philanthropist, Vincent Evanston, who looks like Tino, but couldn't be more different, Stella is drawn into the secret world of The Pet Shop. As her animal lust awakens, Stella must walk the thin line that separates the business of pleasure from the more dangerous business of the heart or suffer the consequences.
Review:
The Pet Shop is a hot, arousing and deliciously addictive novel! I devoured it from beginning to end, KD Grace has wrote an unforgettable novel which will keep you attached to it's pages until the very end!
When workaholic Stella gets a surprise weekend gift from her boss her whole world starts to change, The Gift she receives is a pet. Something unlike anything else in this world. The pet in question is 'Tino', who acts like an animal, he can't talk, he gets fed and he also gets to know his owners the way a dog would.....
Stella soon can't resist her gift no more... but could giving in to her wants and needs end up causing her to add her heart into the mix?
This novel will have you wanting to explore your sexual desires in a pet like way! Who wouldn't want to be pampered and taken care off 24/7?
The Pet Shop is also a heart warming love story which takes so many twists and turns you can't help but read on!
Stella, Vincent and of course Tino are three characters I've never read anything like before. I loved reading about them become two!
All the characters in this novel are unique, interesting and sexy! No matter how much of a part they play, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about them!
You hardly ever say that about a novel, but you will agree with The Pet Shop! If you haven't read this already you need to now! I really can't even explain how much I loved it! The only thing bad thing about the whole novel is there's not a second one and there's no real pet shop or no real Tino! Trust me I asked the author... :(
While I try and go find Vincent if there's no Tino you can purchase a copy of the novel here in whether Kindle format or paperback! Go on you know you want to ;)

Adult Review: Santa Baby - Lisa Renee Jones

Santa, Baby

Title: Santa Baby
Author: Lisa Renee Jones
Publisher: Mills & Boons UK
Format: Paperback
Rating: ★★★★★
My Copy:  I bought a copy of this novel.

When bookstore owner Caron Avery dresses up as Marilyn Monroe for a charity ball, she decides that for once in her life she'll let her inhibitions go. Before she knows it Caron is living a night of fantasy with sexy millionaire Baxter Remington in hot pursuit.

And what a night it is. Sizzling, red-hot and sensual, Baxter can't believe he's fallen under the adorable blonde's...er...brunette's spell. But with the scandal going on in his life, he knows he should let her go before she gets caught up in it, too. Then again—maybe one more night (or eight!) of mind-blowing passion will help them both forget!
Review:

Lisa has wrote Caron and Baxter as two genuine likable characters who seemed real!

They weren't "too" made up which made this book all the more interesting, it was definitely an amazing read!

One things certain Caron full-filled my fantasies in this book I just wish I had that Marilyn Monroe wig to try them out for myself... most likely in a small bookshop! ;)

"A costume does not make a woman, she argued 'confident does.'- Sarah, FBI Agent" I LOVE this quote!

Santa Baby was the perfect book to end my festive mood for 2012! It was euphoric!

Sometime a good girl needs to be naughty! Something I agree 100% with now thanks to Caron Avery and of course Lisa Renee Jones for writing about her!

Just like any other strong willed woman Caron speaks her mind which is how she gets the attention of Baxter Remington, Thee "Baxter Remington" with coffee bars all over the United States and Canada.

Even in her pink sweats Caron is all natural and that is who Baxter can't stop going crazy over. Even when she tells him his coffee's are too dear for her!

Something which I enjoyed the most about Santa Baby was how unpredictable it was. Baxter Remington is exactly how he is described at the back of the book, Sizzling, red-hot and sensual! He's undeniably perfect!

I definitely want to read more about Baxter and Caron and without a doubt more of Lisa's books!

MISTLETOE MADNESS by Jennifer LaBrecque

Review:

Secret Santa is a novel filled with three very stunning hot festive reads all of which are incredible.

He'd better watch out - Janelle Denison

Janelle Denison's books just fasinate me the more I read them and Amanda Creighton was definately one of her best characters!

Amanda is Christians secret santa and vise versa. They both put alot of though into their gifts for one another, the main one is though each other!

The Nights before Christmas - Isabel Sharpe

Cathy Ann was such a fun character to read about she was so enjoyable and honest! One of my favourite scenes has to be when she turns up at Quinns apartment in the sexy red lingerie she's received from her secret santa who she thought was from Quinn.... When's she's trying to take her jumper off but gets it stuck!

Cathy Ann is such a normal down to earth character, she's just fab! And ofcourse so is the sexy Mr Quinn!

Mistletoe Madness - Jennifer LaBrecque

Tatiana and Cole are two of the best characters I've ever read about! They are two amazingly written characters. This is definately one scorching read!

All three stories were brilliant! I loved each and every single page, I just wish it was next christmas again so I could get back into the festive mood!

Being short with big boobs means living life off-balance. Isabel knows this all too well; at five feet nothing with a tendency to tip over in heels, she's struggled for twenty-five years to make clothes, careers and boyfriends fit. Enter Michael. Divorced father, recovering alcoholic and fifteen years her senior--he was the last guy she thought would make the cut. But when he proposed over a pastrami sandwich in a NYC deli on the anniversary of their first date, Isabel knew, improbably, that he was the one.

Fifteen mostly happy years and two kids later, Isabel walks into her living room to discover her husband dead on the floor, leaving her a widow at forty-one. At Micheal's funeral, a guest solemnly informs her that the official mourning period for a Jewish widow is thirty days. At the moment, Isabel can't imagine a time when she will stop grieving. Not helping the process is this: as a single mom living in the very married suburbs, for the first time in fifteen years Isabel once again just doesn't fit in.

It takes her four year-old daughter's request for a new daddy to set Isabel on a journey through online dating, shifty matchmakers and painfully orchestrated single dinners. But after endless dates, a torrid affair with an unemployed, passive-aggressive neighbor and a story on page three of the New York Daily News, Isabel begins to realize that another man may not be the answer and, surprisingly, that's when things begin to change for the better...

Excerpt:

Our blue and white paisley duvet lay crumpled on the bed, but Michael was no longer under it. The air conditioner beckoned me with a loud rumble, and I stood in front of it for a moment, letting the stale breeze cool my skin. Sufficiently chilled, I turned and walked back down the hall into the heavier air of our living room. It was then that I saw him, lying at the foot of the green overstuffed chair, a few inches away from his favorite perch on the well-worn, beige linen sofa. Except for the small pool of blood that had formed on the rug beside his head, he looked as if he might still be sleeping.

I ran past Michael to the far end of the room, my heart beating hard in my throat. I rummaged through the papers and notebooks that covered my desk in search of the portable phone. Finding it, I dialed 911. After what felt like enough time to grow old in, a dispassionate voice finally came on to the line.

“I think my husband is dead,” I said, shaking. There was no thought. Just words and sweat and panic. “What should I do?”

In Between Seasons Blog Tour: Author Interview: Cassandra Giovanni & Giveaway!

Thanks so much for being here! How are you?

Thanks for having me. I’m quite well and very excited to be here for the blog tour!

Can you tell us something about yourself that no one else knows?

Umm…well, not that no one else knows; my husband knows just about everything about me. Readers might not know that I’ve changed my major in college 3 times. First, Business Management, then Medical Coding and finally Marketing. I love Marketing though, so I will be completing this degree.

Can you tell us about In Between Seasons?

In Between Seasons is a romance in the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic world. It’s the first novel I published and is book one of The Fall Series. The two main characters are shaped by their lacking of understanding of why and how things have gotten to where they are and shows Kate saving Hunter from his demons and Hunter keeping Kate sane as she realizes the world she has been living in. It’s a character-driven novel that focuses on these two characters.

When did you first realise you were interested in writing?

I’ve always been a writer from the time I was able to talk and tell a story. I was first published when I was around 7 years old when I won a contest in American Girl Doll.

Who's been your favourite character to write about?

Honestly, I can’t really choose from all of my novels. If I had to choose one from In Between Seasons, it would be Hunter. There’s so much strength and pain in that man.

Do you have a motto for when you’re writing?

I write when I am inspired—I never force anything out. I just let it come.

What is your favourite genre to read?

That’s a good question, but honestly, I don’t have one. I do lean towards romances that are about emotions and developing characters more than about the physical interactions.

What book are you currently reading?

Scarboroughby Ellen Ekstrom

Where do your covers come from?

Every cover is inspired by a scene in the novel, or a scene in the novel was inspired by the photograph. I take all of the photographs for my covers and marketing materials, and then I design my own covers.

Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

Do what you feel is right, not when anyone else tells you is right. There are plenty of people out there who will tell you how to write, but if you are a writer then you already know how. I personally don’t feel that anyone should ever force themselves to write (unless it’s for school!)

Do you have anything specific you'd like to say to readers?

Thank you so much for being readers. I write because I love it, but I also write because I love my readers. I want to inspire struggling writers to keep writing, and I want to remind people that in darkness there is always light.

Adult Book Review: Northern Escape - Jennifer LaBrecque

Northern Escape
Title: Northern Escape
Author: Jennifer LaBrecque
Publisher: Mills & Boon UK
Format: Paperback
Rating: ★★★
My Copy: I bought a copy of this novel.

Nobody in Good Riddance is wondering how world-class chef Augustina "Gus" Tippens ended up running the local diner. No, but everybody's dying to know the identity of the mysterious, sexy stranger who's eyeing her like she's scrumptious creme brulee...
Travel journalist Nick Hudson loves coming across the unusual--and the annual Good Riddance Christmoose Parade definitely fits the bill But his biggest surprise is Gus When they finally lure each other into bed, the sex is better than chocolate. Way better
But Gus has a secret...and a complicated, dangerous past. Worse yet, when she discovers the truth about Nick, he might never be allowed to sample her delicious goods again. And with a woman like Gus, one taste just isn't enough....
Review:

Northern Escape was such a quick read for me simply because I couldn't get enough of Gus and Nick. I was so intrigued to find out Gus' secret that when I did I wanted to read more!

I loved the atmosphere of the small town which is Good Riddance and the way everyone knows each others business the story itself based in that town truly amazed me at how much I loved it. There are a couple of quoted from the novel which I adored.

"The loons and many other birds fly south for the winter. They knows when the season has passed, if they stay where they don't belong, they will die."

and the other one is a more lighter quote.

"There's a season for everything."

Jennifer Labreque has definitely wrote a compelling hot book which stole my mind and attention and ended up enthralled in a small town in Alaska. Something which I won't complain about!

Her characters are just as addictive and hot and absolutely breath-taking!

The way Northern Escape took me to another world I know I'll be reading more of Jennifer's books as they'll just have to get better and better!

Adult Review: The Daredevil - Kira Sinclair

The Daredevil

Title: The Daredevil
Author: Kira Sinclair
Publisher: Mills & Boon (Blaze)
Format: Paperback
Rating: ★★★
My Copy: I borrowed a copy of this novel from my local Library.

Forbidden from seducing his secret wife! Before air force pin-up Chase shipped out, he and Rina enjoyed a sizzling night in Vegas, topping it off with a mock wedding. However, when Chase comes home, he learns that he’s very legally hitched to the feisty captain. Yet, funnily enough, it’s not bothering him at all. But their mistaken union is strictly against air force rules and there’ll be hell to pay if it’s discovered. Still, the thrill of the forbidden is impossible for daring risk-taker Chase to resist. Now the red-hot maverick is refusing to give Rina up, even if it’s the only way to save both of their careers…

The Daredevil is a fun, flirty novel! Chase and Rina - or Sabrina to Chase - are two very honest, caring and enjoyable characters. The chemistry between them is near set the pages on fire! It's so steamy!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about them as the whole plot of the story and all characters involved were intriguing, I couldn't help but read more.

I found myself wanting to delve in and read more about the feelings of these characters emotions and the hardship.

I loved the whole concept of Rina and Chase being married and the way Rina finally discovers who she really is plus that they find each other. The Daredevil is one very amazing read one which I won't forget . (at least not Chase anyway.)
