Book Review:
Read my review of the first novel here.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I am in love with this series but seriously a question directed to the author! Were you seriously tryna push me over the edge with this book? Cause you nearly did! I couldn't stop reading it.. Don't Forget To Remember Me is absolutely fantastic-lly written! ;) No books in the world gets better than this series!
When reading this book my emotions were taking over.. quite literally! I was crying one minute and laughing the next, Kahlen Aymes really sends us on an emotional roller coaster doesn't she? Although that roller-coaster is the best reading experience ever!
Honestly I didn't think after reading book 1 in the trilogy that books could get even better but I was entirely wrong!
Don't Forget To Remember Me started exactly where The Future of Our Past ended so we're not missing anything which is great.. for us the reader... not so much for Ryan! *sob*
I nearly broke my phone a few times while reading this as I was gripping my phone the way I would a paperback so.. don't read on a device if your a book gripper lol.
I hate sharing these books.. because they mean so much to me! More than any other books I've ever read.. and there so close to my heart! Kahlen Aymes is an amazing author, and I say that is nearly everyone of my review but Kahlens writing grips the readers attention with her characters so that the story is an amazing story. It's not just a novel.. it's an absolute addiction and I would surely lost without it! THANK YOU for writing your books! :)

*Last little input! I LOVE YOUR RYAN!! (And Julia... I mean you got to don't you?) Even thought it's annoying sometimes when you realise Ryan's not real... :-/

PLEADING with the author... I soo want to read about Ellie... OR Aaron and Jen... Their stories would be amazing to read! PRETTY PLEASE???? :)

I love these characters and I so don't want this series to end! :( I'l be completely, utterly heart broken when it does! :(

Author Interview: Liz Long

Thanks so much to author Liz Long who has taken the time out to answer some questions and to tell us abit about her new novel Witch Hearts - released tomorrow.

About Liz Long:

Liz Long is lucky enough to have a dream career in magazine publishing as an editor and writer, yet still have time to create adventures on the side. If you catch her staring off into space or talking to herself, dont worry its just her imagination at work.
Liz graduated from Longwood University with a BA in English, though her professors might be disappointed to hear she reads more fantasy fiction than literary novels. She also loves action and thriller genres. This book probably wont change your life, but she hopes it steals you away from reality for a while.

Her newest release, Witch Hearts, will be for sale on Amazon on April 30th. Her first book, Gifted, a Donovan Circus Novel, is also available for paperback and Kindle on Amazon.

Interview:

~ Can you tell readers about about yourself?

I'm Liz Long and I'm the author of two indie books now, Witch Hearts, and Gifted, a Donovan Circus Novel. I'm the social media editor with a publishing company in Roanoke, VA - I run all the social sites and blogs, as well as write for the print issues of my company's magazines (city, travel, and wedding respectively). I am so lucky to have my job and realise it every single day! I can talk for days about my dog Fisher, and I'm married to a musician who, after 10 years of being together, can still surprise me with a cover of Justin Timberlake's "That Girl" for my 28th birthday.
~ When did you develop an interest in writing?

I've been writing since the second grade - my first story was about unicorns. I was a reporter and then editor in chief of my middle school newspaper and knew then it was my favourite thing in the world. Since then, I've written for my college paper, local publications, guest posts on blogs, and of course now my own books. Journalism, blogging, fiction - I've done it all and still love every minute!

~ Can you tell us about about your new book Witch Hearts?

Sure! Witch Hearts is a paranormal thriller in the same vein as "Kiss the Girls" or "Criminal Minds" but with a witchy twist.

Here's the synopsis:

How does a witch stay safe if a killer can get through her protection spells?

Witches like Ruby and Courtney can take care of themselves. So when Courtney is murdered, Ruby’s world crashes to a halt. The only thing keeping her grounded is the return of Courtney’s brother, Cooper. He seeks revenge, but Ruby wants to help other witches stay alive. To do that, she’ll have to reunite with her old coven’s High Priest, who also happens to be her cheating ex-boyfriend.

If that wasn’t awkward enough, when the killer gets too close, Cooper temporarily moves into Ruby’s place while a police officer tails her every move. Cooper’s presence distracts Ruby as they fight their desire against their need to stay safe. Then Courtney begins to haunt Ruby’s dreams and secrets are spilled, things from Cooper’s past that could get them both killed. The killer continues to stalk Ruby and the more she discovers, the more she fears she won’t be able to keep her heart in her chest.

~ W
here did you get your inspiration for it?

Honestly, I'm a bit of a paranoid person when it comes to my safety. I'm vigilant when alone in parking lots or in the city, constantly suspicious of creepy looking folks (even though my city is ridiculously safe). Despite living in an incredibly safe neighborhood, I still flip out at noises at night because I'm terrified someone is breaking in serial killer style - and when my husband goes away for a night, I tend to leave pots and pans in front of doors as a ghetto alarm system. I love fantasy, so when I sat down to write about witches, I took a few fears of my own and wrote them down - there's a particular scene where Ruby goes into a dark basement that is every bit of one of my nightmares. The opening chapter is also something that terrifies me (to be kidnapped off the greenway during a run) and I wanted to creep people out as much as I can be sometimes - something I've apparently accomplished since three of my close runner friends are too scared to run near dark now!

~ The Witch Hearts cover is half eerie half intriguing! Who designed the cover?

Erica Dickson is my cover designer - she did my Gifted, A Donovan Circus Novel book cover as well. She's also my best friend, so we're like, the best team ever when it comes to creating our projects.

~ What book are you currently reading and are you enjoying it?

I just finished Cassandra Clare's "Clockwork Princess" and really enjoyed it (despite needing to read a "Previously On" post since there's so much that happens!). A great read that wrapped up the entire Infernal Devices very well (and with a tear or six in your eyes). It was such a unique story that I actually liked much better than the Mortal Instruments; perhaps it was the Victorian twist to everything, or maybe I just liked Will that much :) The next book I plan to read is going to be the last Sookie Stackhouse book by Charlaine Harris when it comes out next month.

~ What is one key piece of advice you'd give to aspiring authors?

I say this a lot, but I encourage taking a break every so often. I used to feel so guilty about taking a night off to catch up on TV shows or hang out with my husband and then I remembered that's ridiculous! You can't forget to live in between your day to day jobs/responsibilities. I'd never say go days or weeks without writing, but we shouldn't feel bad about needing a night or two off every so often. Fans might want that new book out as soon as possible (and that's a great problem to have), but they'll appreciate a book more when it's a labor of love and not rushed just to get another title out.

~ Is there anything you'd like to say to readers?

I just want to thank every single reader, Twitter friend, Facebook fan, and blog follower for their support. I really hope you pick up a copy of Witch Hearts - and love it, of course! It's a fun read for anyone who loves magic, murder, and mystery and I can't wait to hear what you think. Don't hesitate to email or tweet me - about anything! I love hearing from you.

Author Guest Post & Book Review: Surrogates by KD Grace

Surrogates

Title: Surrogates
Author: KD Grace
Publisher: Mischief
Published: April 2012
Format: eBook
Rating: ★★★★
My Copy: I received a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review via writer marketing services.

About the book:

DANIEL ALEXANDER III takes his marriage vows seriously. Until he gets the balls to ask his wife, BEL, for a divorce, watching each other masturbate is all he can offer his beautiful gardener, FRANCIE CARTER. But when Dan’s friend, SIMON PARIS, agrees to be his surrogate, affairs of the heart get complicated.

Review:

Ever been a situation where you can or want to look but not touch? Well that's exactly what's happened to Dan! He's convinced himself he isn't exactly cheating on his wife while him and his Gardner masturbate together without performing the act on her himself! Although when he convinces his best-friend Simon and Francie to sleep together pretending it's him and her things heat up rather quickly! Including Dan in the bedroom with his wife and her massage therapist - Ellen!

K.D Grace definaly knows how to make her readers blush! Doesn't she? Especially when a little S&M is involved! Even if one particular scene was hot hot hot the novel will surely get your temperature rising with what else is included!
Surrogates is the perfect novel for any erotica reader out there as K.D Grace has gave us readers all we could have wished for.... The perfect love story filled with hot passionate sex, a little S&M, some girl on girl action.... and some tender gardening thrown in! ;)
Simon and Francie my two characters. They were simply a match made in complete and utter blissness heaven along with Dan and Bel who very gladly worked things out in the end with needless to say a very good spanking - By Bel of course! Although.... I think I agree with Simon that Dan would enjoy himself a little to much!
Wow, Just wow! Surrogates is a hot, sexy, sensual novel! It definitely defines erotica it in it's own right. K.D Grace is one amazing author whose novels simply should be devoured!
Who would ever have thought gardening could become sexy? All I know is I need to sign up for some gardening lessons! ;)

Guest Post:

When it comes to sex, let’s face it, the eyes have it. While it’s true that we do have four other senses, and no doubt sex is the best when all senses are engaged, there’s something outrageously hot about the idea of looking but not touching. I’ve always been a bit of a voyeur, and I love the idea of observing the act of passion, analysing it, playing it over inside one’s head from every angle. I’m also intrigued by the fact that being the outside observer means one can vicariously participate in the sex act of both partners, which is something those actually involved in can never do. It’s almost like having sex twice at the same time. Or better yet, make that three times, once for each partner and once for the watcher. So, sex in the eyes of the observer is in some strange kinky way three times as powerful while being at the same time once removed. However, the watcher in this case is always the passive third party, only ever observing, only ever taking in and analysing the sex act of the couple being watched.
But, imagine how much more power the watcher would have if he or she were also the one calling the shots, still not participating, but telling the sex partners what to do to each other – especially if one of those involved is his mistress.
In my novella, Surrogates, even though he’s in love with his beautiful gardener, Francie Carter, Daniel Alexander III takes his marriage vows very seriously. Until he gets the nerve to ask his wife, Bel, for a divorce, watching each other masturbate is all he can offer Francie. Then Dan convinces Francie to allow his friend, Simon Paris, to be his surrogate – to have sex with her while Dan watches and supervises. It’s a win-win. Dan stays faithful to his wife, and with Simon’s help, he can keep Francie satisfied until he asks for a divorce.
With their yawner of a love life, Dan’s wife, Bel, is enjoying her own version of borderline fidelity with her massage therapist, Ellen. Bel can’t see the harm. After all, it's not proper sex if it's with another woman, is it?
Dan’s discovery of Ellen and Bel trysts strangely rekindles his passion for his wife. As sex with Bel gets kinkier and better, and sex between Francie and Simon gets ever more sizzling, Dan thinks he has the best of both worlds. But secrets don’t stay secret. Substitutes aren’t the real thing. And in the end there are no surrogates for matters of the heart.

Book Excerpt:
Dan wasn’t listening. ‘Francie, darling, I know how hard it is for you, with us not able to really be with each other. I promise that’ll end soon, and we can be together properly. But in the meantime, it’s not right me having Bel and you having no one. So I’ve come up with a solution for us. Simon will be my surrogate.’
‘What?’ Francie had pushed herself back against the sink as far as she could. Her heart raced in her throat and her face felt like it would burst into flame. ‘You want me to … You want us to …’ She nodded to Simon, then she glared up at him. ‘Is this why you’re here?’
But before Simon could do more than make a couple of fish gasps, Dan ploughed on.
‘Oh don’t you see, darling, it’s so perfect. If I can’t be with you, if I can’t give you what I know you so desperately need, then who better to help us both out that my dearest, most trusted friend, Simon.’
‘He’s a landscaper. He’s hired help just like I am.’ She sounded a lot more hysterical than she meant to. What she wanted to sound was outraged. What she wanted to sound was incensed.
'No, sweetheart, no. Simon and I are old friends. We went to uni together. We spent a wild summer in Italy together. Darling, I’d trust Simon with my life.’ He shot Simon a meaningful glance, then his gaze came to rest on her. ‘I’d trust him with the person in my life I value most, the one I most want to make happy.’ He caught his breath, and his face softened. ‘Please, darling. This is a gift, something I can do for you. You can pretend he’s me. I can make love to you through Simon, and you, anything you’ve wanted to do to me you can do to him.’
‘Anything?’ She spoke around her racing heart, which felt like it would jump right out of her mouth.
'Yes, anything, darling. Anything.’
'Good.’ Before she had time to consider what she was doing, she slapped Simon, hard, hard enough that he recoiled. Both men gasped, and her hand stung like fire. But she ignored the pain, squared her shoulders and looked Simon right in his now watering grey eyes. ‘Then you can give him that for me.’
To her total surprise, Simon did exactly as she said. He walked over to Dan and slapped him, slapped him hard enough to knock Dan up against the staging table, slapped him hard enough to draw blood where a tooth cut his lip.
The electric silence that followed was interrupted only by the heavy breathing of all three. The two men glared at each other for a moment, sizing one another up. Trembling all over, Francie grabbed the edge of the sink for support, just as Simon turned his back on Dan and came to stand in front of her. He stood so close his breath ruffled the hair that had come loose from the clasp she wore it up in, so close that the rise and fall of his chest beneath his T-shirt was impossible to ignore, so close the heat rising from his body felt magnetic.
'Does that about sum it up?’ He asked.
For a second, she thought she might cry. But instead, she threw her arms around his neck and kissed him. She kissed him as hard as she had slapped him, like she wanted to eat him up, like she wanted to crawl up inside his warmth. And he kissed her back. Jesus, how he kissed her back! He kissed and nipped the hollow of her throat around to the sensitive place below her ear, then he whispered in between efforts to breathe. ‘If you want me to stop, tell me now before it’s too late.’
‘Don’t you dare, don’t you dare, don’t you dare,’ she gasped over and over again, guiding his hand to the knot tied below her right breast that held her wrap-around dress closed.
He yanked it hard, then he shoved and pushed until the dress slid from her shoulders and pooled on the floor around her gardening clogs. Somewhere in the periphery of her mind she heard Dan’s fly unzip, a sound she’d grown used to over the past few months, a sound that constantly taunted her with everything she could see yet never touch.
But there were other things to focus on today. Simon kissed his way down her sternum and cupped her breasts, cupped them and kneaded them until her nipples strained against the callouses of his stroking fingers. Then his mouth took over. What her breasts lacked in size, they made up for in sensitivity, and her whole body thrummed as he suckled and bit, nibbled and licked.

Book Review:

Someone Else's Life takes you on an emotional journey like no other. It will have you smiling, crying and laughing all at the same time.

The pull between the characters is extraordinary and all play an individual part no matter how long their in it. The author has wrote a novel that will stay with stay with me forever and has made me see what's really important in life.

It doesn't matter if your blood related.... A husband and wife fall in love.... just like a child and it's parent!

Without talking to much about the book cause I really don't want to giveaway spoilers or really like I normally do the whole book. This book really needs to be credited as I don't really YA... until now! Since reading it I've been well and truly bitten by  the YA genre and especially New Adult...

I am super excited to see what's next for the authors and which novel I'll be additively attached to next!

If there is a book to read in your lifetime... THIS IS IT!

Interview:

~ Thanks so much for taking the time out to answer some questions, How are you?

Im great! Sitting here at the computer getting to talk to you. Pretty rad stuff!

~ Can you share with us your latest news?

My first ever ménage and more just released from Total-E-Bound Publishing, entitled, Until the Night. MMFM. Always fun! (available here: http://www.total-e-bound.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=&P_ID=1969) Im working on at least three more stories and cant wait to share them with you!!

~ Where do you get most of your inspiration from?

Depends. I can find inspiration in just about anything. For example, we bought paint for the one room of the house. Now buying paint is pretty boring, but the gent who was behind the counter mixing said paint? Holy cow! So tasty. And my mind wandered. If a woman came in for paint and happened to know him, where would things go? I grabbed the paint chip paper to take with me so I wouldnt forget my idea. He was a nice guy and Im running with that inspirational moment. Grin.

~ Where is your favourite place to write about?

Cleveland, Ohio. People tend to rag on Cleveland as being boring and dirty, but its pretty cool if you go investigating and exploring. Weve got two great stadiums baseball and American football, plus a fantastic aquarium, plenty of distinctive eateries, the zoo which is always a font of ideas, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Lots of great places to visit.

~ What advice would you give to aspiring authors?

Never quit. Really. It takes a seriously thick skin in this business. One persons “I loved it” is another persons “This is garbage.” And your ego can take a big hit. But never give up. The moment you give up, you give in to the haters. Write whats in your heart and keep trying. Youll learn, fall down and have some not fun points, but it will be worth it.

Guess that wasnt one piece of advice, but I like to chatter, so I tend to overshare. Grin.

~ Out of all the front covers on your novels, which is your favourite?

Hmm. I like the less is more mentality on Play to Him (

Play to Him
http://www.total-e-bound.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=&P_ID=1905). Sexy and understated. But, I love racing. So, my second two favorites would be a tie between Ever Fallen in Love (http://www.total-e-bound.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=&P_ID=1325

Ever Fallen In Love

and Still the One (http://www.total-e-bound.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=&P_ID=1862). Grin. Ive got a serious weakness for race car drivers.

Still The One

~ Are any of your characters experiences based on your own?

Yes! Ive been to plenty of races and been in a couple of race vehicles. I love to incorporate that into my stories. Spent time on pit road during a race or two and have visited the race shops to take LOTS of notes.

~ What's the best thing a fan has ever said to you?
"You have got to write Mindy, Arran and Sav’s story after Tangled Up. GOT TO.”

~ What book are you currently reading and what would you rate it out of 5?

I just finished Lora Leighs Wild Card. Ive read that one about five times. Id give it a solid 5 because theres so much emotion in it. I fall in love with Nathan every time.

~ Is there anything I haven't asked which you wish I had?

How many fingers am I holding up?

Four. Didnt think I could see you, did you?

Flash Favourites:
Colour: Blue any colour of blue
TV Series/Season: Oy! Hm... CSI, CSI Miami (but its defunct) and Law and Order either the original L&A or L&A: UK. Love all those.

Re-read:Grisham not a romance, but hey, its a good book. J
Actor: Ewan MacGregor. YUM
Actress: Dont think I have one. I like too many to name, but none really stick out.
Film: Field of Dreams. I could watch this one over and over and over.

Flash Fiction:
Waiting by Wendi Zwaduk
Copyright 2013 Wendi Zwaduk

I love my husband. I do. We have an unconventional relationship. We both work and outside the house, we seem normal. We are normal, but once the bedroom door closes, all bets are off. Hes my Master and Im his willing Pet. Did I mention willing? Yeah, I am.

He sent me a text this morning telling me wed play when he got home. I did as he askedleft my hair loose, stripped nude, and waited on our bed with the rope in my teeth. When he arrived home, he placed me in the position he wanted, used the rope to bind me, then left me with my back to the door.
He left!
Part of our play has to do with patience. He does whatever he feels I need, then leaves me to think and wait for him. As much as I complain, I love it. The cuffs bite into my wrists and my feet are tingling from my position. Still, I stay put. I wanted him to make the bindings more elaborate, to pinch my breasts between the black cords or to slide the nylon over my pussy.
I tilt my head and listen for any slight noise from the other room to clue me in that its time to play. My skin sizzles and excitement runs through my veins. I cant wait to play. Cant wait to feel his studded paddle on my ass. I bite back a moan. Just thinking about what he might do to me turns me on.
"My naughty Pet needs her picture taken.”

I hear my husbands voice behind me, but until hed spoken I didnt realize he was back there. A picture taken? Oh fuck, yeah. I hold my shoulders back and keep my head erect. I love when he takes my picture. The final product is always so erotic.

The flash pops and illuminates the wall. How many photos will he take? Im not sure. I want to look over my shoulder at him. I want to see the lust in his eyes while hes behind the camera, but I dont. I hold still. I know the reward will be worth it.

Something behind me clicks and the flashes stop. I hear his footsteps padding on our thick carpet and wonder what hes doing.

My husband strolls to the head of the bed and sits down before me, blissfully naked. I drink in the sight of his chiseled body, his hair with the slight wave curling over his forehead and the glint in his sparkling blue eyes. His dimple shows when he smiles and the piercing in his left pec twinkles in the light. I long to taste him. To feel his hands on my body. I shiver with anticipation. So many ideas and all night to play.
"Ive decided not to use the still camera,” he says, then nods behind me. “Were using the video camera tonight. I want to capture our play for viewing later.”
I dont dare look, but fever overtakes my body. I cant wait.

Omg Wasn't it amazing?? I could have kept on reading! What about you? What did you think of the interview? :)

And, Kelly has a lot of erotica on her ereader! Ménages, slave fantasies, strangers and BDSM are all included in the stories Nevaeh has to share.

This sexy, world traveler incites Kelly to forge a friendship unlike any she’s ever had before. She never knew a shopping trip could be so educational, especially in an adult store. With her head spinning and her panties damp, Kelly embarks on a crusade to reignite the passion her and her husband, Nate, once had with a few new toys and other surprises. When he surprises her by being a more than willing participant, she decides to test a few boundaries, push a few limits...

Kelly becomes determined to find out if her old neighbour is right, if paradise can be found within your own four walls with the man you married. But, what happens when Kelly’s husband finds out about all of her time spent with Nevaeh? What will happen when Nevaeh’s husband, Hayden, comes into town for the reunion? Will her marriage be in trouble, or will things go further than Kelly ever dreamed they could go?

Wow, Just WOW! Finding Paradise is just the sorta novel every woman ought to read in her adult life! The scenes, the character everything about Finding Paradise is PERFECT! Absolutely perfect! I will definitely be recommending this book to others!

More of this authors novels will surely be going on my TBR list as her novels always make for an interesting and unforgettable read.....
One things for certain though.... I'll NEVER be the same the in an adult store again.....

Author Interview:

Could you tell readers abit about yourself?I’m an erotic author / college student. What I am going to school for and my writing are both dreams of mine, just worlds would clash if I didn’t keep them separate. And, that’s just fine with me. I think my bio explains it really well:

By day, Abby is what the world tells her to be. By night, alone with her imagination, she is who she wants to be. Giving into the breathy voices who pant new and exciting sexual scenarios inside of her head, she pounds away at her keyboard. Abby’s only goal is to have her readers free their own minds, grab their ereaders, and go away with her into a world where no one judges what the body wants, instead they explore what the flesh is capable of.
your novel(s)?
I write erotic fiction that mixes up sexual situations with many various pairings like m/m, m/f/m and more! I like to push my imagination into different situations that usually incorporate some fetishes or light bdsm. You can read about all of my stories at my blog

your writing history/journey so far?

So far, I’ve had three novellas release, and have had 4 shorts release in themed anthologies. Here is a little about my latest story in The Boys Club anthology called, “Getting Fit”

It’s guys night at Daren’s gym. About once a month Daren and his lover Mike get together with friends, two other couples, Ryan and John along with Steve and Jake. From midnight on, Daren’s fitness club is open to only the three couples to do whatever they want, wherever they want. It’s cool, well actually, it’s hot, and something the couples look forward to. With pool and Jacuzzi, racquetball courts and yoga equipment, these six guys who visit the gym on a regular basis, tonight, after hours, will work out in ways far from appropriate during normal business hours …

Have you always wanted to write Erotica?  Well, ever since I read my first erotic book I have *winks* There is just something about it that gives me a mental release.
Who is your favourite author and why are they your favourite?  I could never choose a favourite author. I read various genres and various works, really whatever my classes assign me or whatever I stumble upon, etc, and I just pretty much love them all with a few exceptions. I don’t have one author that stands out over the others for me.
What is your current read?A college textbook not worth mentioning since I’m in intensive summer classes now, there isn’t really time for luxury reading :(
Do you have a motto when writing?  “Let your mind go there...” I try hard not to censor myself.
Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?  Just write, don’t worry what it is, what it is about, just write the story for you, then send it out and see what someone says.

A MASSIVE thanks to Abby for the interview :)
