5 Bookish Ways Beat The Post Holiday Blues

We have officially managed the first week of January, which I believe is the toughest. Trying to get back into a routine or start a new one, the constant eye sore that is chocolate everywhere you look (I’m a chocolate lover I am, but when you have so much of it in the house its a bit sickening) plus the fact everyone is sort of cranky as we’re back to worrying about money just as we were the week before Christmas.

January is often felt as the longest month although I find having small things to look forward to really helps break it down, dinner with your partner, a new book release, or even writing challenges like this one hosted by Viviana MacKade will help ease us into the month with the suggested January prompts.

We’ve had so much adrenaline gearing up for Christmas that we’re all a buzz but when there are no family gatherings, work beckons, and no thinking of whether to add that extra box of choccies to a gift or buy an extra roll of wrapping paper The Post Holiday Blues can be lonely.

For this reason, I’m suggesting below 5 Bookish Ways To Beat the Post Holiday Blues

1) Join a Book Club

Book clubs are a great way to meet new people plus alot are virtual these days and hold monthly Zoom meetings with the camera switched off.

2) Read books out of your comfort zone, a new genre or author counts as well.

3) Start a book Blog, booktok, bookstagram, or Podcast (Something which my sister and I are in the midst of doing)

4) Create a reading journal and record all books you’ve read, want to read, or that you enjoy. Make something that is entirely unique to you.

5)  Join a buddy read

There are so many buddy reads that have started on Instagram that anyone can join so why not have a look and see if there are any you like?
