Interview:
I am doing great! I tackled some edits, helped a friend with some research, cleaned house, got on the exercise bike, and did a little writing.
My latest release, The Silken Edge has been receiving really good reviews, and that has inspired me to write book two a little faster.
Originally it was going to be three or four books, but it’s growing in my mind. Good for the readers, but more work for me! But that’s okay. I’m enjoying it and we’ll see where it takes me. The Silken Edge Series revolves around people who are into the BDSM scene at an exclusive club called Underground Decadence. Each book concentrates on one or two people at a time, and focuses on their lives, how the scene comes into play for them, and how it effects their relationships.
My brain! How scary is that? For book one – just simple visits to the gym on equipment that spread my legs got me thinking, and I’m sure you know about what.
Book two – I have family that works for the airlines, so the first quarter of the book revolves around something that happens on a plane.
For me inspiration hits at odd times and in the strangest places.
Yes, and no. Yes, I go to the gym, and fly on airplanes, but after that that’s where my characters take on their own lives. They do things that I’ve never done (yet), and I use my imagination and tons of research to try and get it right.
I didn’t decide to make The Silken Edge a series until two-thirds of the way through. That’s when the secondary characters started begging for their own stories to be told. So it wasn’t hard for me at all. Now being able to do them justice in their own books, that will be the difficult part.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (the title suits me).
Not concerning my work. I just like to travel!
There are a couple things I’ve loved hearing; that they couldn’t put my book down, or that I made them emotional (in one way or another). Those two things are huge compliments to me. That means I was able to draw them into my world, and keep them there.
Write everyday, and read a lot! You have to work your brain just as you would muscles when you work out. Your brain can get rusty and out of shape if you don’t work it every day.
Not that I can think of off the top of my head… but it is late here. It’s 230AM as I type this. I’m a night owl since birth though.
I’m cool with it, as long as it’s Safe/Sane/Consensual.
Books like Fifty Shades are opening people up to the idea. Before that became such a hit, people didn’t really talk about it. It’s become a huge topic amongst people, and all over the internet. And the majority of it is positive. Not many are forsaking it.
I’ve tried the BD part of it, but no SM, that’s a little too much for me personally.
As far as my experiences, I’m lucky to have a willing partner who doesn’t mind experimenting with a little blindfold/restraint/spanking/flogging/nippleclamp/vibrating fun.
I enjoyed reading, Red Phoenix and her Brie Series, and Kallypso Master’s with the Masters at Arms series.
I loved the way both ladies were able to write on the topic and keep to a really good storyline, while at the same time introducing you to some memorable characters
Thanks so much for having me Kerry-Ann! This was fun!
